About
Our Mission
The Greenwood Wildcat Foundation will secure funding and award monies to provide supplemental resources that will strengthen the academic, cultural, wellness, and extra-curricular programs of the Greenwood School District.
Our Vision
In partnership with our community, the Greenwood Wildcat Foundation will provide innovative solutions and opportunities to inspire our students to reach their highest potential!
Our History
In 2017, the Greenwood Wildcat Foundation was established in response to the needs and goals defined in Greenwood School District’s long range strategic plan. The Foundation is registered as a 501(c)(3), k-12 public educational foundation for purely charitable purposes. The volunteer board of directors convened their first meeting in December 2017 with the intent of enhancing the educational, cultural, and social development of the students of the Greenwood School District.
The Foundation works to provide funding and support for innovative educational programs not within the District’s traditional budget or curriculum. Programs are funded through charitable donations, as well as special events and fundraising activities.
Our Core Values
Integrity. Community. Collaboration. Excellence. Impact.
Board of Directors
A volunteer Board of Directors governs the Greenwood Wildcat Foundation, which is separate from that of the school district. In accordance with our by-laws, the Foundation has a full board of 10 volunteer Directors. Permanent members of the Board include the Greenwood Superintendent and Business Manager, a representative of the Greenwood Education Association, and a member of the Greenwood School Board. These permanent positions ensure that the Wildcat Foundation continues to make appropriate decisions that complement the District’s efforts.
